The True Light
Educational Ministry (TLEM, pronounced Tellem) is a
Christian Ministry.
TLEM is a
ministry of evangelism directed at one of the largest, but
least evangelized mission fields in America, the cults. Our
goal is to educate and lead Christians in learning how to
witness to those involved with the cults and occult.
Every Christian has had some exposure with the cults. That
exposure varies from the television set to the front door.
On the television, one may see a commercial from the
Mormons. At the door or in the street, it is common to find
Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormon missionaries selling their
teachings. Granted one can change the channel on the
television and radio, but what happens at the door? The
average Christian often hides behind the curtain and makes
believe no one is home. Some simply buy one of their
publications to "get rid of them." That purchase of the
publication brings cult materials into the Christian home.
More importantly, it supports the cult. The Jehovah's
Witnesses generate over 65 percent of the income from the
sale of their publications.
The influence of the Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons will
inevitably affect every congregation. No one is immune.
Every Christian eventually will confront these people and
obligated to give witness to their faith. Will he (or she)
be ready? A poll asked the following question to a cross
section of 2,000 Christians, "If your pastor held a special
teaching seminar at your church on how to witness
effectively to Jehovah's Witnesses, would you attend? "Of
those responding, 74 percent said yes. The True Light
Educational Ministry makes this service available to you.
In addition to the cults, today we are exposed to many
different forms of the occult. The television, newspapers
and movies are filled with teaching from the occult. Talk
shows on television seem to be specializing is psychic
mediums and the like. We need to teach Christians how to
respond to these teachings and protect our youth from them.
We are
Christian non- professionals who have responded to the call
of God to carry the Gospel to people held in spiritual
bondage. To do this, we train Christians to be able to
properly give witness to their faith. TLEM is a non- profit
organization. We are seeking people to join with us in this
missionary outreach and welcome those who accept the
calling. Grace Lutheran Church of Mastic Beach commissioned
the director of TLEM to establish a non-denominational
ministry to evangelize the cults.
A FAITH
MINISTRY - WHAT COURSES WE OFFER
Our courses
are offered on all the major cults and occult groups. They
deal with the basic doctrinal issues, and how too most
effectively reach a cultist. The length of the course and
the subjects covered varies according to the church's need.
Our full course on the Jehovah's Witnesses for example,
takes fifteen hours. Two members of TLEM and the clergy of
the Church usually present the course. Each lesson provides
ample time for questions to be answered. There is no fee for
the courses. We do accept Love offerings and donations.
Believing that
the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons are in darkness, we
seek to bring to them the light of the Gospel. Our hope is
to turn the table on them by showing up on their doorsteps.
At least, we hope to establish programs that when they knock
at a Christian's door, they can be greeted properly. We are
also planning to establish recorded phone messages,
newspaper advertising, and bulk mailings. In none of these
activities do we represent any church or denomination, not
even the True Light Educational Ministry, only Jesus Christ.
We need your prayer that God will give us victory over the
cults whose members we are seeking to reach.
Our first goal
is to be found faithful in the work which the Lord has
entrusted to us. In order that we may do that, we seek to:
Train other
Christians to do as we do. We hope to multiply ourselves.
Evangelize the
Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and other cults.
Warn the
public against following false teachers.
Provide
accurate, and effective materials for Christians to defend
the faith.
Provide
accurate and effective materials to prove the True Light,
and the real Jesus to the cult members.
SUPPLIERS OF
SEEDS FOR JESUS - WE NEED YOUR HELP
Most of the
350,000 people who join the Jehovah's Witnesses, or Mormons,
each year, come from Christian churches. They are Biblically
illiterate, a fact proven by the Christianity Today poll.
They are also hungry for the Word of God as proven by the
high numbers who seek God in these cults. Will you help
them? When an epidemic breaks out, doctors try frantically
to check the spread of the epidemic by inoculating all who
might become affected. (Then they must treat those infected
victims.) This is what we are trying to do in a spiritual
sense, but the task is far beyond our limited means. If we
are going to accomplish our goals, we need the support of
many Christians and churches.
