Sun
Myung Moon is Telling Christian Ministers to Take Down
the Crosses

Moon’s Family Federation for World Peace and
Unification (FFWPU), formerly known as the Unification
Church (UC), has started a series of seminars on the
Divine Principle to recruit our Christian ministers.
The seminars will be followed with a series of luncheons
and other events designed to recruit at least 12,000 new
Christian ministers into following Moon’s teachings and
join with the others in the American Clergy Leadership
Conference (ACLC) by Easter Sunday. The official banner
for this program has the name of the FFWPU on top,
followed by “Tear Down the Walls!,” Who is Rev. Moon?, A
Divine Principle for Clergy. The first seminar was held
in New Jersey, March 10, 2003. Every Christian should
look carefully at program. The first seminar title is
“Tear Down the Walls.” What does this mean and entail?
The wall that Moon is
referring to is the Cross of Jesus Christ, the very
symbol of Christianity. Moon teaches that because Jesus
failed to marry, he had to take the path of the cross as
a secondary path, and therefore the cross brings great
pain to both God and Jesus. Sun Myung Moon basis the
taking down of the cross because, according to him, the
age of the Cross has ended. Several ACLC ministers have
already removed the cross from their churches. Yet,
Jesus Christ teaches; “anyone who does not take his
cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:31;
Mark 8:34)
The
reason Jesus failed to marry, according to Moon, is
because He (Jesus) is the illegitimate son of Mary and
Zacharias. Therefore He could not marry John the
Baptist’s sister. In order for Jesus to enter heaven
He had to be married, thus Moon married Him to a living
Asian woman. Another false teaching of Moon is that
Jesus was not God but made divine by Christians after
His death. According to Moon Jesus was raised in spirit
not body and thus can only offer us spiritual
salvation. For total salvation Christians must be
married the “Blessed Marriage” and change their blood
linage by drinking the “holy wine” of Moon, thus
becoming sinless. Yet, it has been reported that Sun
Myung Moon had two illegitimate sons, one from a former
wife and one from his present wife; two of his children
married by him have divorced, and another reportedly
committed suicide. If the sinless concept does not
apply for Moon or his own family, how can it work for
anyone else? Moon also claims that he liberated God
back in the year 2000. Our God does not need
liberation, and if he did, no human could liberate him.
Scriptures warn us about false teachings, particularly
in 1 John 4:13.
Sun Myung Moon
stated: “In early July, I spoke in five cities around
Korea at rallies held by the Women’s Federation for
World Peace. There I declared that we are the
savior, the Lord of the Second Advent, the Messiah.”
(Sun Myung Moon, Today’s World, October/November
1992, p. 7) In addition he claims to be the Emperor of
the universe, king of kings, savior, and Lamb of God.
Thus, even if one were to allow the translation of
messiah to simply mean anointed one, the other titles he
claims clearly reveal his meaning. His teachings are
clear that the unification of the world must end up with
him (Moon) as ruler. Remember Jesus said, many will
come in His name, but He knows them not.
Since we
cannot serve two gods, every Christian involved with any
of Moon’s programs or fronts must ask do you believe
Moon or the Bible? Moon has clearly indicated his
feelings about the Bible. “Until our mission with the
Christians is over, we must quote the Bible and use
it to explain the Divine Principle. After we receive
the inheritance of the Christian church, we will be free
to teach without the Bible.” (Sun Myung Moon,
Master Speaks, #7, p.1) That inheritance Moon is
seeking is clear in one of his speeches “The time has
come when the whole world must be concerned about me.
From now on, American Christianity must follow me.”
(Sun Myung Moon, Today’s World, November 1993,
p.5) Jesus very clearly teaches: "No one can serve two
masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other,
or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve both God and Money.” (Matt .5:24; Luke
16:13) Many are attracted to follow Moon because of the
free trips, gold watches and other gifts,
including money. Does your church still believe in the
cross or has it been removed or replaced? |
