A Scientific Approach to Creation Versus Evolution

Both the creationist and the evolutionists agree that the universe and all its’ contents are finite. That is that there was a beginning and will be an end. They further agree that before the beginning there was no time, space, or matter. They differ greatly on everything else. The creationist believes in a super being, God Almighty, who is infinite, with super powers. The evolutionists deny and existence of super powers or miracles, that everything develops naturally. The theistic-evolutionists try to combine the two by teaching that God used evolution in His creation process. Just about everyone has already determined which of these they believe is true and which is false, including this author. As a Bible believing Christian, I believe that God created the universe and all the animals on the earth and man in six days. Thus this article is a bias view of my beliefs. If you can prove me wrong, please do so, as I am seeking the truth.

Starting with creation, the Bible states that God created the universe and al its contents including man in six days. We need to stop here for a moment because some people believe in a Gap Theory, in that there is a separation of millions of years between verse 1 and verse 2. The gap theory is man's attempt to make the Bible agree with the worldly view. It cannot be correct for the following basic reasons. First, there were no verses in the original Scriptures. As a matter of fact there was not even a comma at the end of the so-called first verse. Then, if there was life millions of years before man there had to be death before the fall. That would mean that the Bible is wrong when it teaches that the wages of sin is death. Getting back to the six days of creation, God could have created the universe and all its contents in six minutes, but wanted to also teach us to set aside a day of rest and worship. If these days were periods of time we would still be in the seventh period and God would still be resting. Therefore, He would not have help Noah, called Moses, or sent His Son to pay for our sins. In addition He would not answer our prayers. The Bible clearly identifies the days with the statement, "And there was evening and morning…" of each day. It further clearly states in Exodus 20:11 that in six days the Lord made the heavens and earth.

The evolutionists deny the existence or possibilities of any super natural power or miracles. They teach that things have to grow (evolve) from simple forms. They teach that somehow a sub-atomic particle appeared. They do not say how, why, or where it appeared in the absence of time and space. However, for some unknown reason this particle exploded and grew into our universe and earth. They give us an effect without any cause. In addition, they do not explain how a sub-atomic particle can explode into larger bodies. With explosions the particles are smaller and chaotic. Yet, we find the stars, planets and moons in very definite orderly orbits. The planets rotate around the sun similar to the electrons rotating around the proton.

The evolutionists teach that the earth was hot and dry and that comets crashed into the earth and their ice tails melted placing the water on the earth. More than 70% of the earth is covered with water making it difficult to believe that all that water came from the tails of comets. The next phase of development is the start of life on the planet. The evolutionists, as we said in the beginning deny the possibilities of any supernatural event or miracles. They start with earth not having any oxygen present. Most still give the Miller/Urey experiment as the example of the gases that were present being struck by lightening formed the amino-acids that spontaneously formed the first living cells. However, for over fifty years the scientists have been mixing together all the chemicals found in the basic cell, but have yet to produce a living cell. Miller was careful to eliminate oxygen from his experiment for if it did not cause an explosion it would have oxidized the amino-acids produced. Evolutionists go on with the cells breathed in carbon dioxide and gave us the oxygen we presently have. The big question here is where did the carbon dioxide get the oxygen to form the carbon dioxide? Then this new spontaneously generated cell not only had to be capable of breathing, but also reproduction. They then have some of the single cells, probably a plant or bacteria, molt into the animal kingdom. Those then become mobile and eventually some who molt into a multi-celled animal. The plants also somehow molt into multi-celled organisms. While this was all done without any miracles or supernatural powers it is difficult to believe. Even more difficult is the fact that the multi-celled animal had to come with complete organs, such as breathing, circulatory, and reproductive. None of those organs can work if any part of them is absent. With the reproduction why would nature separate the male and female organs to require sexual reproduction, making reproduction more difficult? Another fact that comes into play here is the DNA. All the mutations we see today are based upon the loss of information in the chromosomes and DNA, not the addition of information. That has to mean that the information at the start was perfect to start with. Since 1910 scientists in laboratories around the world have been altering the genes of the fruit fly. Thus far the best they can produce is a badly altered fruit fly. Is it really possible for nature to accomplish this and all we see today without any miracles or a supernatural power? If so please tell me how.
